If you couldn’t get the Windows 11 24H2 update because you had the game Asphalt 8: Airborne on your PC, you’ll be able to update soon.

Microsoft had blocked the update on PCs with Asphalt 8: Airborne installed because the new version of Windows 11 was making the game freeze, and users had to restart it often. While the block was in place, those PCs weren’t even given the option to update to Windows 11 24H2.

But now, Microsoft has removed the block, according to Neowin. The company says:

Resolution: This issue has been fixed. The safeguard hold (ID 52796746) that was previously in place for this issue has been lifted. It could take up to 48 hours for the update to show up in your Windows Update settings. If you don’t want to wait that long, try restarting your PC, which might help speed up the process.

This isn’t the first time Microsoft has put a block on Windows 11 24H2. Earlier this year, the update was blocked on PCs with USB scanners and printers in December. It was also blocked in February for PCs running older versions of AutoCAD. We’ll likely see more blocks lifted as Microsoft continues to fix issues with the update.
